PROGRAM ACTIVITIES

Our story began with a mission to inspire and enlighten young women about tech career opportunities. On our second outreach, we visited Government Secondary School, Lafia, Nassarawa, where 150 SS3 students anticipated our arrival.

We started with mindset-building, sharing a video of a teenager's transformative tech journey. (A facilitator's younger sister) Our facilitators then introduced them to the vast opportunities in tech Career, as they proceeded to talk on product-driven roles like design and management. The girls were getting excited!

Next, a hands-on workshop where girls were introduced to Figma, Trello, and Google Workspace basics. It was highly engaging and interactive, as they were excited to attempt questions. Some of the girls had little ideas on some software. 

Smart girls!  They impressed us!

Over one year on, Path4Her has continued to empower young girls in marginalised communities by introducing them to the possibility of products driven tech roles .

Our inaugural outreach in July 2023, at Government Secondary School, Kubwa, Abuja, paved the way.
We launched our first outreach program on the 7th of July, 2023, with Government Secondary School girls in Kubwa, Abuja. At both outreaches, we hosted practical workshops and provided beginner friendly resources, distributed amazing merchandise and materials to the girls to fuel their passion.

CONCLUSION

The outcome? 150 girls now envision product driven tech careers. Receiving fun merchandise and materials that would support and empower them and serve as a guidance towards taking  further steps to exploring the tech world. We are proud of the difference we've made and are looking forward to more impactful outreaches in the future!
